Meg Ryan

Meg Ryan, blonde-haired and blue-eyed She was born Margaret Mary Emily Hyra in Fairfield Connecticut to Susan (Duggan) an ex- actress and English teacher and Harry Hyra, a maths teacher. Ruthenian as well as Polish, Irish, German, and German descendents. "Hyra" Her maternal grandmother's maiden name, is Ruthenian. Meg graduated from Bethel high school in Bethel in June 1979. In the fall of 1979, she relocated to New York, she attended New York University where she majored in journalism. Meg Ryan, her new name, began acting to make extra money while she was completing her education. In the year 1981, she had her big screen debut . She made only a brief appearance as Candice Bergen's daughter in George Cukor's final film Rich and Famous (1981). She auditioned and was made Betsy in the day time soap as the World Turns (1956). She was in the show's cast from 1982 until 1984. Meg also appeared in the TV show One of the Boys (1982), however, this show was later ended. In 1984, she relocated to Hollywood and was offered her first job with the western television series Wildside (1985). Meg had a small role in Top Gun (1986), which resulted in her being cast in Steven Spielberg's Innerspace (1987) where she starred alongside Dennis Quaid. In D.O.A.'s remake, she once again co-starred with Dennis Quaid. (1988) and they were wed on Saint Valentine's Day 1991. In 1989, Meg appeared in When Harry Met Sally... (1989) and the scene in the restaurant became famous. Meg was twice nominated for the Golden Globe and BAFTA. In 1990, she co-starred with Tom Hanks in Joe Versus the Volcano (1990) and this time she played three roles as DeDe/Angelica/Patricia. Also, she was part of the critically acclaimed Sleepless in Seattle (1993), where she received nominations for the Golden Globe. Meg determined to take on a different role than her peers in 1994, by playing the character of Meg as a drunken mother/wife in the film When a Man Loves a Woman (1994). Then, she went back to her "cute" I.Q. (1994) & French Kiss (1995). People Magazine voted Meg as one of the top 50 beautiful women on earth 1994.
