Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was conceived in Miami, Florida on November 30, 1977. Steve Aoki is an American electro house artist recording producer, D.J. Music executive. He is the third child of Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kbayashi. His father was a wrestler who founded the restaurant chain Benihana. He has 2 older siblings, sister Kana (who is sometimes referred to by her middle name Grace) and brother Kevin (owner of the Doraku Sushi restaurant). Half-sister Devon Aoki is a model and actress. He was raised in Newport Beach and graduated from Newport Harbor High School with an 1995 B.A. in badminton. He later attended UC Santa Barbara, graduating with two B.A. He also earned two bachelor's degrees: one in feminist studies, and the other in Sociology. He was a college student who made records on his own and staged underground performances in his Biko space in the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The Pickle Patch was born as a venue for concerts. He was active in student activism , and he founded the Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League section on campus. He had also started an independent record label when he was in the 20s. It was called Dim Mak named after his childhood idol Bruce Lee. He dropped I'm IN THE HOUSE in the year 2000, which was a collaboration with the Zuper Blahq-alter-ego of will.i.am. It was ranked the top spot at No. 29 in the U.K. singles chart in the first week. The song later made it onto the U.K. Dance Chart & the U.K. Indie Chart, reaching the top 5 spots on both charts. The song was featured in the MTV series Jersey Shore. It also was featured in Piranha, the feature film Piranha and also in the trailer for Think Like A Man. In a May interview with HitQuarters, Lucas Secon, the producer-songwriter confirmed that he as well as Rivers Cuomo had just worked on one song. In 2012, Pollstar designated him as the highest grossing dance artist in North America from tours. His collaborations include artists like Afrojack, LMFAO and Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon, Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS, Louis Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vici & Fall Out Boy. He is known for remixing artists like Kid Cudi.
